Arrived in afternoon. Kitchens closed from 4p-5p; wait to eat there. Only one restaurant open

Overall a nice trip. Check in was extremely slow. Room was not ready and waited way too long for the room to be ready. Ruined our first day. Room was spacious and clean. Temporary adult pool was ok. Way too many reserved chairs that were not being used. A complete waste when there are not enough chairs to begin with. Just another way for them to make more money. Need a better system for guests who are over 18 to enter the adult pool. Kept telling my daughter every day she could not be there when she is 19. They were not even nice about it even when I showed them her passport. They looked at us like they didn’t believe her. Not cool and was annoying all week. Would not return sorry. Many better places with better service that make you feel like they actually want you there.

Very well appointed condo. Views are incredible. Beach area is small but lovely. Infinity pool was great and perfectly heated. Wonderful pickleball and paddle court that’s surrounded by beautiful foliage and open 24hrs. Staff was helpful and accommodating of our needs for a late checkout.

Baha Mar feels like it is trying very hard to be the Las Vegas of the Bahamas. It is distractingly expensive, even charging $4 for hot water. There are no restaurants specifically for families with kids. There is a pizza restaurant and a noodle restaurant, but the minimum bill for a family of 3 is still $150. The resort is focused around its giant casino. It has a large waterpark, which is why we selected it, but its waterpark is better suited for older kids with the surf park and rides over 48”. It has two more extreme rides that are for single riders, but both need technical maintenance. My son rode both and ended up with huge scratchs down his back from bad joints and bad maintenance. He did not ride either of the extreme slide more than once. The food around the pool is fine, but nothing special and averages $18-$22/burger with cokes at $10. We expected expensive, but they are taking advantage of guests. The bartenders around the pool are on average disinterested in creating drinks and very interested in not doing anything, let alone their jobs. We tried several different bars, always focusing on being polite and appreciative towards them and were always dismissed. Each drink is also accompanied by a mandatory tip and resort fee, so your $18 mai tai costs $22 without any additional tip for the bartender. We were equally distracted by the overly expensive specialty restaurants. The sushi restaurant asked $50 for a Hawaii roll that costs $22 at home.

Water park is great for the kids.
